Oceana County Animal Control

ANIMAL SHELTER OPEN HOUSE
June 13, 8AM-Noon

The Oceana County Animal Control Department is under the supervision of the County Administrator's office. Our responsibilities include dealing with cases of animal cruelty, animal abandonment, and animals running at large.

Lost Pets

Please call us if you have lost your pet or have found a stray pet in the area. We keep a list of lost-and-found pets in order that we may help reunite lost pets with their owners. Although your pet may not be at our animal shelter, chances are good that someone has notified us of your lost pet and is keeping it safe and comfortable until the owner is found.

Adopting a Friend

How You Can Help

Volunteers from the community are welcome and encouraged to assist at the shelter after receiving some basic instruction in animal care and handling. We are always looking for volunteers to help.

Donations of old clothes, towels, etc. for warm bedding, dry pet food, treats, cat toys and raw hide chews, etc are greatly appreciated by our staff and animals alike.

To make our pets as comfortable as possible while they are with us, we are looking to update our dog beds. Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for another dog to sleep in comfort, please click here or on the ad to the right.

Come Visit Us!

We are open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., except holidays. We are happy to schedule appointments at other times for you to see the animals we have available.

If we are not available when you call, please leave a brief message with your name and number and we will be happy to return your call.

The animal shelter is located on Baseline Road, between Hart and Shelby, about one mile east of Oceana Drive, on the south side of the road by the airport.
